WHAT IS RESURFACING?
Skin resurfacing is the superficial abrasion of the epidermis. This skin aggression induces a natural skin healing process and stimulates the neocollagenesis in the dermis. The collagen and elastin production contribute to a smoother, even skin and blemishes are faded.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM RESURFACING?
Resurfacing treatment is indicated in a number of aesthetic indications related to skin ageing:
- Improvement and smoothing of skin texture
- Skin pores tightening
- Treatment of wrinkles and fine lines
- Treatment of skin patches
WHICH TECHNIQUE FOR RESURFACING?
Various resurfacing techniques are available: Peeling: A chemical substance (often an acid) is applied to the skin to induce a limited and controlled destruction of the epidermis or even the superficial dermis layers. Laser: CO2 or Erbium lasers: YAG offers a superficial skin treatment to perform a resurfacing. Contact radiofrequency: Some radiofrequency devices are equipped with microelectrodes for epidermis microablation through the creation of coagulation points. This triggers a natural skin process: healing. These old skin cells are replaced by new cells. This technique is less painful than laser resurfacing and induces a lighter social eviction while offering similarly visible results.
