WHAT IS DYNAMIC PHOTOTHERAPY?
In Dynamic Phototherapy (DPT), the photo acceptor is exogenous and the interaction with light is most of the time detrimental to the pathologically targeted tissue. DPT is the application of a photo sensitising substance (ALA 5 type) onto the skin prior to exposure to blue or red LED. The activation of the photo sensitising substance through medical DPT triggers a targeted destruction of unhealthy tissues, or tightening and improvement of skin texture in the case of aesthetic PDT.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM DYNAMIC PHOTOTHERAPY?
Men and women of all ages may be treated through dynamic phototherapy to treat skin problems such as superficial skin carcinoma. DPT may also be used in some aesthetic indications.
