WHAT IS BODY CONTOURING?
One of the most popular cosmetic procedures, body contouring – or body shaping – helps to regain a harmonious figure. Body contouring can be performed through surgery, however over the past few years non-invasive techniques have greatly developed thanks to energy-based medical devices (cryolipolysis, laser, RF, HIFU, etc.). Through these new technologies, it is possible to improve sagging skin as well as safely and efficiently reduce adipocytes without the side effects related to more involved surgery.
BODY CONTOURING FOR WHO?
Body contouring is the ideal treatment for people suffering from fat deposits without being overweight. Body contouring eliminates unsightly fat rolls in persons leading a healthy lifestyle yet unable to get rid of small curves on specific areas: tummy, love handles, saddlebags, thighs, knees, arms, chin etc. Body contouring is as effective in men as in women.
CRYOLIPOLYSIS: AN EFFECTIVE BODY CONTOURING TECHNIC
Cryolipolysis is increasingly popular and a 26% yearly increase in treatments has been recorded. This technique guarantees efficiency and safety and is based on the destruction of fat cells through cold. It is non-invasive and does not require anaesthesia. Optimal and permanent results are shown 8 weeks post-treatment. Furthermore, cryolipolysis is a very versatile technique that allows treatment on fat deposits located on any part of the body.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The cryolipolysis concept is to intensely cool a localised fat deposit and apply strong pressure through aspiration to induce ischemia, thus modifying the adipocytes configuration. This change in the cellular state from a normal body temperature (37ºC) to negative temperatures (up to -9ºC) sends an apoptosis chemical message to the adipocytes. The lipid content is released, dead cells are progressively eliminated through the lymphatic system and the fat cell density of the treated volume decreases.
